A year of music, a year of growth
Looking back on where we’ve been, and what’s next for the label.

Welcome to the first edition of Tjum Tjumba Transmission, affectionately known as T3. A monthly wrap of where we’ve been and what’s ahead.

It’s been just over a year since Tjum Tjumba started putting music into the world. What began as an idea between friends has grown into a fully fledged label and community that’s about more than just music, as we focus on creating space for connection via our event curation.
Recap — 1 year of releases:
The foundation of our journey so far

We're not slowing down, and with plenty left in the tank to come, let’s take a look back at what we’ve offered so far:
WZZED – Buds EP
Our first release, and a statement of intent. WZZED delivered a debut that shifts between deep, hypnotic soundscapes and jagged experimental energy, proof that this community is here to take risks while keeping the floor in focus.Berg Jr – Neptune
An organic, progressive single that moves with patience and detail. Neptune leans into melody and groove, steadily building a journey that feels expansive without losing its drive. It opened up a different side of the label’s sound, as much about flow as it is about impact.Anima Omada – Higher
A track born from loss, spirit and transformation. Higher wasn’t just music, it was a story — layering percussion, samples and melody into something that lifted people up, both in the club and in themselves.Brothers – Brothers EP
The most recent, and one that goes to the heart of what Tjum Tjumba stands for. Grounded in connection to culture and Country, it’s raw and percussive but also deeply spiritual — a project that honours tradition while pushing dance music forward. It reminded us that the floor is not just a place of release, but of belonging.
Each release has built on the last, shaping the story of the label while creating something bigger than the music itself: a collective energy that belongs to everyone who listens, dances, and supports. Available on all streaming services or directly via Bandcamp by clicking the button below.
What’s next:
Teaming up with Contrast Radio x Children’s Ground for a cause at Bourke Street Courtyard

Next up is LOOM, our charity fundraising series in partnership with Contrast Radio. We’ll be raising funds for Children’s Ground, a First Nations organisation that celebrates and uplifts First Nations knowledge, creating equity and access to high quality education, health and economy in community for the next generation of children.
LOOM isn’t just another party. It’s about weaving culture, community and dance together, showing how electronic music can be a space for both celebration and impact. The lineup is an all First Nations bill featuring Yikes, dameeeela, and Mikalah Watego, alongside solid local supports WVCHWY, pvrtal, FAF, and TREY.
Together we’ll be taking over Bourke St Courtyard on Friday 17th October, bringing artists and punters together for a cause bigger than all of us. All profits will go directly to Children’s Ground, and tickets are on sale now via Resident Advisor.

Looking ahead:
Sugarbush returns to Abbotsford Convent in 2026

Planning is already underway for the next chapter of Sugarbush Open Air. We’ll be back at Abbotsford Convent in 2026, this time with an expanded footprint and a new space that gives us more room to grow.
Thanks to support from Creative Victoria, Sugarbush is stepping into its biggest year yet. That backing means we can scale the event while staying true to what makes it special: a meeting point for community, culture and sound.
The move to a larger site at the Convent is our chance to take that energy further with a bigger space/dancefloor, and a deeper experience on a production level.
More details to follow soon, but for now, save the date: Saturday 7 February 2026.

Final thoughts:
Thanks for being part of this first year with us and your support. Every listen, share, dancefloor moment and message has helped shape Tjum Tjumba into what it is. We’re only just getting started, and we’re glad you’re here for the journey.
